Thank you Kainaaz Writer Bokdawalla for suggesting this place and being so kind as to call up the owner just so that we were visiting !!
Apologies 4 the shoddy photography… Absolutely worth going there again…and again.
It was still early..not yet 7pm..which is the opening time..or else this restaurant is always chock-a-block !
Like i said..it was still a few mins to opening time..
Chetan – lovely hospitality!!
I am always interested in the first page of the menu card! There is always a piece of history/background in there that just makes the experience more meaningful!
Kaala mutton fry (loved, loveddd this- totally a revellation!) and Varhadi mutton with chappati.
The Kaala mutton fry (Chetan explained that this cuisine was native to the Vidarbha region..he himself hails from Amravati..which was a surprise again 4 us coz we never tasted such stuff when we were in Nagpur! Revelation).
The Varhadi Mutton- yum!!
The sea food thaali !! The fried prawns were to die 4!! The pomphret was lovely, the dry fish chutney was a tad too spicy 4 me but Shom Shubhra Sen lapped it up – this coming from a bong whose staple is fish…is a huge compliment! Yummy fare.
Soulkadhi.
The rice! Another revelation ! They give you an option between biriyani rice or indrayani rice. Chetan suggested we go for the steamed white sticky rice..the indrayani rice. Trust me it actually tastes like the chinese jasmine rice, which is almost as sticky, really white and the grains are also similar shaped !!!
